How to travel to Hong Kong Disneyland

Getting to Hong Kong Disneyland is super convenient, whether you’re coming from the airport or any hotel in Hong Kong!

The best part? You can easily reach the park using the MTR (subway system). Just take the MTR to Sunny Bay station, then hop on the cute pink Disney line, and it’ll take you directly to the park entrance! The special Disney train will bring you right to the magical gates of Disneyland. It’s really that simple and hassle-free!

Things you should know before coming to HKDL

When visiting Disneyland, the most important thing everyone needs is the Hong Kong Disneyland app installed on your phone!

This magical app will be your best friend during your visit! It helps you manage your time better by showing you all the information about shows and rides in each zone, including real-time wait times for attractions. This way, you can plan your adventure more efficiently!

**Pro tip: Good time management is the key to experiencing all the rides and attractions! Having a solid plan will make it so much easier to enjoy everything the park has to offer!

When is the best time to visit Hong Kong Disneyland?

Planning a Disney trip and wondering which park to visit? While there are 6 Disneyland parks worldwide, if you’re a first-time visitor from Thailand looking for something nearby, Hong Kong Disneyland is perfect!  Though it’s smaller than other Disney parks, the magic and beauty here are absolutely incredible – plus it’s just a short flight away!

Now, when’s the best time to visit? For the most magical experience, try to plan your trip during one of the special festivals! Each Disney park has its own annual celebrations (they vary by location), like Easter, Summer, and Halloween festivities. You can find the exact dates for these events on each park’s official website – they update their schedules monthly rather than yearly, so be sure to check before you plan your trip!

From my personal experience, I highly recommend visiting during the end of the year!  You’ll get to experience both Halloween and Christmas festivals! The park decorations are absolutely adorable during these times, and in the evening, they even have artificial snow falling along Main Street – it’s seriously GORGEOUS!

Pro tip for character meet-and-greets: Visit early on weekdays!  You’ll have better chances of meeting different characters and more time for photos with your favorite Disney friends. The cast members are less rushed, and you can really make those magical moments count!

What is the best month to visit Hong Kong Disneyland?

Spring Season (March to May)

Hong Kong’s weather during this time is quite pleasant! The temperatures range from about 17-26°C (62-79°F), making it comfortably cool, especially in the evenings. You’ll find the weather isn’t too hot and there’s less intense sunlight, but do keep in mind there’s a chance of rain and occasional storms!

Pro Tips for Spring Visits:

  • Don’t forget to pack an umbrella and raincoat!
  • SUPER IMPORTANT: Bring insect repellent! The local bugs (especially these pesky little mites) can cause really itchy bites that take forever to heal.

While spring isn’t typically Hong Kong’s peak tourist season (most people prefer the cooler end-of-year weather), visiting during this time has its perks! The smaller crowds mean shorter wait times for rides and shows – we’re talking just 5-15 minutes per attraction!

The best part? You might not even need to buy the Disney Premier Access (fast pass) tickets because the lines are so manageable. You can easily experience all the rides and attractions without the extra expense!

Isn’t it great when you can enjoy more Disney magic with less waiting?

Summer Season (June to August)

During summer, Hong Kong gets super hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 26-31°C (79-88°F) – pretty much like Thailand’s weather! The sun is really intense, and you might catch some thunderstorms here and there!

Summer Safety Tips:

  • Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours to avoid sunburn!
  • Take frequent breaks in shaded areas or inside buildings
  • Stay hydrated! Pro tip: Bring your own water bottle because there are FREE water refill stations throughout the park!  (Store-bought water in the park is quite pricey – about 120-130 Thai Baht per bottle!)

The BEST part about summer at Disney? The special water festivals!  It’s kind of like our Songkran in Thailand – you get to play water games with Disney characters! It’s SO MUCH FUN! Kids who love water activities absolutely MUST visit during this time because these water events only happen in summer!

Fall Season (September-November)

This is Hong Kong’s prime tourist season, and for good reason! The weather is absolutely PERFECT with cool breezes and clear skies. Temperatures stay comfy between 19-28°C (66-82°F).

But here’s the thing – because the weather is so amazing, the park gets pretty crowded!  You’ll definitely want to plan your ride strategy carefully since wait times can average 35-45 minutes per attraction. If you’re determined to experience everything (like me!), you might want to consider getting the Disney Premier Access (fast pass) tickets!

The MOST exciting part? HALLOWEEN!  During October, the park transforms into a spooktacular wonderland! And get this – it’s the only time of year when guests can dress up in costumes (usually it’s not allowed)! How cool is that? You can live out your Disney character dreams!

Fun fact: Fall is when the park’s atmosphere is extra magical because of all the Halloween decorations and special events. It’s like the whole park puts on a fantastic costume!

Winter Season (December-February)

Hong Kong gets nice and crisp during winter, with strong breezes and cool temperatures ranging from 10-19°C (50-66°F). It’s perfect for everyone who loves bundling up in cozy coats while exploring!

This is my absolute FAVORITE time at the park because of Christmas festivities!  The whole park transforms into a red and green wonderland, and all the Disney characters dress up in special holiday outfits!

The most magical part? In the evening, they create artificial snow along Main Street!  Even though it’s not real snow, it creates such a dreamy, enchanting atmosphere – it’s absolutely breathtaking!

And after January 1st, the park gets another gorgeous makeover with Chinese New Year decorations, giving the whole place a totally different but equally beautiful vibe!

Imagine sipping hot chocolate while watching snowflakes fall in front of the castle – it’s pure Disney magic!

Which airline is best to go to Hong Kong?

Hong Kong is such a perfect destination for Thai travelers!  It’s only about a 4-hour flight away, which isn’t too long at all, and there are tons of airlines to choose from!

As a HUGE Disney fan, I can tell you that Hong Kong Disneyland is absolutely the most convenient Disney park to visit!  Compared to other Disney parks in China, Japan, France, or America, it’s so much easier to plan a trip here. You don’t need to worry about lengthy preparations, packing tons of luggage, or taking long vacation leaves (you know what I mean! ).

What I love most about Hong Kong Disney is how flexible your trip can be! You can do:

  • A quick day trip (morning to evening)
  • A 2-day, 1-night stay
  • Or a relaxed 3-day, 2-night vacation

My personal travel tip: I often fly with AirAsia! They’re super convenient with lots of flight options, seat selection, and the best part – they frequently offer amazing promotions! If you’re planning a Hong Kong trip, definitely keep an eye on AirAsia’s special deals!

Traveling to Hong Kong Disneyland

Getting to Hong Kong Disneyland is super easy!  The park is directly connected to the MTR system – just take the orange Tung Chung Line to Sunny Bay station!

Once you arrive at Sunny Bay, simply cross over to the other platform where you’ll find the special Disney Resort Line (and trust me, you can’t miss it – it’s adorably Disney-themed! ). The best part? These magical trains run every 3 minutes, taking you straight to Disneyland!

It’s like the train itself is part of the Disney experience – just hop on and let it whisk you away to the magic!

Hong Kong Disneyland

Let's enter Hongkong Disneyland Park!!

Hong Kong Disneyland is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM! When you arrive at the park, you’ll be greeted by a HUGE Duffy display!

For those who might not know this adorable character, let me tell you his sweet story: Duffy is actually a teddy bear that Minnie Mouse lovingly sewed for Mickey Mouse, and then he magically came to life!

Duffy is basically the superstar of Hong Kong Disneyland! The locals absolutely ADORE him – he’s seriously as popular as Mickey Mouse here!  It’s actually incredible – Duffy merchandise is so incredibly popular among both locals and tourists that his products take up more than 50% of all merchandise space in the park!

Can you believe this cuddly bear has become such a huge sensation? His merchandise is flying off the shelves faster than you can say “Disney magic”

How many parks are in Hong Kong Disneyland?

Hong Kong Disneyland consists of 8 main themed zones!  Each one has its own unique decorations and special attractions. Let me tell you about these magical areas…

Would you like me to continue translating the descriptions of each zone? I’d love to help you explore all the wonderful areas of Hong Kong Disneyland!

Main Street, U.S.A.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Main Street USA is designed to capture the charm of a classic American street!  This magical boulevard is mainly a shopping paradise where you can find souvenirs, gifts, and exclusive Disney limited edition items! Each shop is beautifully decorated with incredible attention to detail.

The best part? This is where you’ll meet various Disney characters who are there to welcome you to the park! You can hug them, chat with them, and take photos with your favorite Disney friends!  It’s like stepping into a storybook where Disney magic comes to life!

Besides all the wonderful souvenirs, Main Street offers delicious seasonal treats like popcorn and ice cream! You’ll find adorable popcorn carts selling warm, yummy popcorn (the signature flavor here is caramel – it’s SO good!).

Now, about those special popcorn buckets – Hong Kong Disney doesn’t release them very often, and while they might not be as numerous or as cute as the Japanese Disney parks’ ones, they’re still pretty special and limited edition! If you spot one you like in the display case, grab it while you can!

Here’s a super helpful popcorn tip: If you buy a premium popcorn bucket, you can get refills! Regular paper boxes can’t be refilled though.

**Pro tip: When you visit, always double-check with the Cast Members about which buckets are refillable! They have different types: some can be refilled, some can’t, and some are only refillable during specific times!

ไอศกรีมฮอกไกโด ฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์

The limited-edition Hokkaido milk ice creams have flavors that change regularly. You can go try them out – it’s a fun opportunity to taste new and unique varieties.

And for everyone who’s excited to see Disney’s magical parade, Main Street is THE place to be!  The parade usually starts around 5:00 PM, and the theme changes with different seasonal festivals!

Pro tip: Find your spot along Main Street early to get the best view of all your favorite Disney characters as they parade by!

World Of Frozen

The World of Frozen is the newest zone that just opened!  This magical area is inspired by the animated film Frozen, and they’ve brought the ENTIRE kingdom of Arendelle to life! It’s absolutely GORGEOUS for photos – if you’re a Frozen fan, you’re going to absolutely LOVE this!

The attention to detail here is incredible – they’ve recreated the whole kingdom, straight from the movie! Every corner is perfect for capturing those magical memories.

Attractions : World Of Frozen

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นในโซนWorld Of Frozen

The first attraction is a boat ride that takes you through scenes from the first Frozen movie!  But here’s something important to know – there’s one backward movement and one drop during the ride. If you’re someone who’s nervous about these kinds of rides, or if you’re visiting with small children, please consider carefully! Every child has different fear levels – some kids love it, while others might cry at the drop.

Important Ride Information!

  • No height requirement
  • Includes dark sections
  • Children under 7 years must ride with an adult
  • Features one drop
  • Not recommended for pregnant women or those who think they might be pregnant

I really want to make sure everyone has a magical time, so please consider these factors before riding! Would you like to know more about the ride experience or other attractions in the World of Frozen?

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นในโซนWorld Of Frozen

This ride is a train-style coaster that zooms along the tracks with just a teeny-tiny drop (really, it’s super tiny! ). But heads up – the ride is pretty short (only about 30 seconds). For this one, I (Ad) don’t recommend buying Disney Premier Access – it’s better to hop on first thing when you enter the park! But of course, it’s totally up to what works best for you!

  • Height requirement: Must be at least 95 centimeters tall
  • Children under 7 years old must ride with an adult
  • Has a small drop
  • Not recommended for guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, neck problems, or motion sickness
  • Expectant mothers or those who think they might be pregnant should not ride

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นในโซนWorld Of Frozen

This is such an adorable show! I totally recommend bringing kids to watch it – it’s super cute without any scary parts at all! There’s no height or age restriction, and the special effects, lights, and sounds are absolutely spectacular!  You’ll get to see Elsa and Anna up close because they actually come down from the stage and perform in the central hall. They don’t just stay on stage – they come right out to the audience! It’s absolutely magical and I really recommend it!!

Now, here’s the important part about the show’s limitations: It runs on specific showtimes with limited seating, so you MUST make a reservation – you can’t just walk in whenever you want. And there’s no separate ticket purchase option – guests need to make their own time reservations. From my heart, I really really recommend planning this carefully because if you don’t, there’s a high chance you might miss out completely and have to wait for another day or even your next visit!

Here’s my trick for making reservations: First, download the Hong Kong Disneyland app and register your ticket. The show’s reservation system opens 30 minutes after the park opens.

Once you’re in the park, open the app and go to the ‘Get Standby Pass’ menu. The system will take you to a waiting room – if you’re quick, you’ll be in the front of the queue, but if you’re late, you might end up being number 1,000-2,000 in line!

Super important tip: DO NOT refresh the page or exit! If you refresh, it’s like leaving the queue and starting all over again! When it’s your turn, the system will let you choose your preferred showtime and make your reservation.

If you’re going with a group, one person can book for up to 4 people by using the ‘Add Family Members’ or ‘Guest(s) in party – Add up to 4 tickets to get Standby Pass Together’ menu. Just scan the park entry QR codes of everyone who’ll be watching together!

Menu : World Of Frozen

For snacks and refreshments in this zone, we have lots of yummy options! There are 2 main restaurants: Golden Crocus and Northern Delights. They serve various set meals and desserts, but the real stars here are the Olaf Ice Cream, Olaf Carrot Cake, and a special shaved ice dessert topped with whipped cream in cream soda flavor – and guess what? You can keep the cup as a souvenir to take home!

Both restaurants serve meal sets and various treats, but these are definitely the fan favorites!

Highlights of World Of Frozen

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นในโซนWorld Of Frozen

For all you figurine collectors out there, this zone has something super special – exclusive figures that you can only find at Hong Kong Disneyland!  They have all the characters from the story, and here’s the exciting part: you get 5 minutes to fill up your container with as many figures as you want! A staff member will keep time for you.

The rules are super flexible: you can grab as many as you like, pick the same character multiple times (want a container full of just Elsa? Go for it! ), or mix and match your favorites – just make sure the lid closes properly!

These are exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland, making them extra special for collectors!

ทิก ทอก ของเล่นและของสะสม

The souvenir shop in this zone is called ‘Tiktok Toys and Collectibles’, and it’s a Frozen fan’s dream come true! The shop exclusively sells Frozen merchandise – everything Frozen in one place!

Perfect for collectors who don’t want to hunt around the whole park for Frozen items. Just pop into this one zone, and you’ll find everything from headwear to decorative items and souvenirs!

World Of Frozen

World Of Frozen

If you want to meet characters Elsa, Anna, and other Frozen friends, you’ll need to hang out in this zone because they only appear here – they never venture outside their snowy home!

The characters take turns greeting guests for about 10-15 minutes each. When their time is up, they head back inside, and a different character comes out to say hi!

Just a heads up – meeting characters here works differently from meeting princesses at the castle. Unlike the castle meet-and-greets that have set schedules, here it’s more of a surprise! They don’t announce which character will appear or when they’ll come out, so you’ll need to stick around and see who shows up! It’s like a magical surprise party – you never know which of your Frozen friends you might meet!

The fun part is the element of surprise – will it be Elsa with her ice powers, or maybe Anna with her warm hugs? You’ll have to wait and see!

Toy Story

Next up is Toy Story Land – everyone’s favorite animation zone! This entire area is designed to make you feel like you’re one of Andy’s toys walking into his room! Everything here is super colorful, and many everyday objects are supersized – you’ll see giant cans, cereal boxes, and rulers everywhere!

Every single corner of this zone is totally Instagram-worthy!! From the entrance all the way through the inside of the zone, every spot is perfect for photos. Every corner is absolutely adorable and photo-perfect!

It’s like stepping into a giant, colorful toy box where YOU become one of the toys! Everywhere you look is another amazing photo opportunity – it’s just too cute!

his ride looks super cute and it’s kid-friendly! Though personally, I (Ad) find that the spinning circuit is a bit tight, which made me feel slightly dizzy after riding for a while. But hey, this might just be me – some people are totally fine with it!

  • No height or age restrictions
  • Children under 7 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is over 16 years old”

รีวิวโซน Toy Story / Hong Kong Disneyland

This ride is perfect for all you thrill-seekers who love heights! The theme is super fun – you get to pretend you’re one of Andy’s Green Army Men parachuting down! The best part? When you’re up there, you get an absolutely gorgeous bird’s-eye view of the entire park!

But if you’re not a fan of heights, you might want to skip this one! Don’t worry about the drops though – they don’t just drop you straight down. Instead, you’ll experience gentle up-and-down movements at a moderate pace, about three to four times per ride.

Important ride information:

  • Minimum height requirement: 81 centimeters
  • Features high drops
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old
  • Not recommended for pregnant guests or those who think they might be pregnant.

รีวิวโซน Toy Story / Hong Kong Disneyland

This is THE must-try signature ride of this zone – perfect for all you thrill-seekers out there!  Hahaha! Think of it as Disneyland’s version of a Viking ship, towering at 27 meters high! If you love rides that make your heart race and give you those exciting butterflies, this one’s definitely for you!!!

Important ride information:

  • Minimum height requirement: 120 centimeters
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old
  • Not recommended for guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, back or neck problems, or motion sickness”

Characters

In Toy Story Land, you’ll get to meet your favorite Toy Story characters! They take turns coming out to greet guests – sometimes solo, sometimes in pairs – for about 15-20 minutes at a time.

The characters appear at random times throughout the day, so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for your favorite toys! You never know who might pop up – maybe Woody, Buzz, or even the adorable Green Army Men!

Next up is Tomorrowland – a zone that takes you into the future with a fantastic space-age vibe! This area is perfect for adults and especially popular with boys! ✨

The highlight of this zone? You’ll get to meet superheroes walking around greeting guests! We’re talking about amazing Marvel characters like Captain America, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, and more! There’s even a superhero show that you can watch! 🦸‍♂️

So if you’re a Marvel fan, this zone is absolutely a must-visit!

This ride feels just like riding Dumbo! It’s absolutely not scary at all, so parents can feel totally relaxed about taking their little ones on this one! No thrills or scares – you can even control going up and down yourself! Perfect for families with young children!

  • No age restriction
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old.

This is a fun 3D ride where you hop into a car and help Ant-Man complete his mission! You get one special piece of equipment – a laser gun to shoot at different targets along the way! I (Ad) think kids will absolutely love this one!

There are no drops, and the car moves at a nice, gentle pace. Parents can definitely take their little ones on this adventure!

  • No height restriction
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old

รีวิวโซน Tomorrowland / Hong Kong Disneyland

Personally, I don’t think this ride is too scary – it’s definitely kid-friendly! It’s a sci-fi adventure ride where you team up with Iron Man to fight villains!

You’ll wear 3D glasses and board Iron Man’s spacecraft for a flying adventure! Some parts feel super realistic – there are moments when you’ll feel like you’re actually falling! It’s thrilling but don’t worry – there aren’t any actual drops!

Important ride information:

  • Minimum height requirement: 102 centimeters
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old
  • Not recommended for guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, back or neck problems, or motion sickness
  • Not recommended for pregnant guests or those who think they might be pregnant

รีวิวโซน Tomorrowland / Hong Kong Disneyland

This is another star attraction in this zone and it’s many people’s favorite ride! It’s a Star Wars-themed roller coaster that runs on tracks. After trying it myself , I can say it’s super fun! There are small drops, and while it’s not exactly scary, it’s definitely thrilling! The excitement comes from the combination of high speeds and dark surroundings where you can barely see anything – it really gets your heart racing!

Important ride information:

  • Minimum height requirement: 102 centimeters
  • Features small drops but very high speeds
  • Runs through dark sections
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old
  • Not recommended for guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, back or neck problems, or motion sickness
  • Not recommended for pregnant guests or those who think they might be pregnant.

Fantasyland

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์ทั้งปาร์ค รีวิวทุกโซน

This zone is the most beautiful and fantastical fairy-tale area in the park! Located just behind the castle, it features princess-themed rides that are dreamy and magical. None of the rides are scary or thrilling – they’re all designed for the whole family to enjoy together! Little ones can ride with complete comfort, and parents can join in all the fun!

This is a train that circles around the park – it was closed for a while during COVID but now it’s back in service!

The train has two stations where you can get on and off: the Main Street station at the front of the park and another station in Fantasyland. You can hop on and ride as many times as you like! It’s perfect for when you’re tired of walking and don’t want to trek back to the front of the park – just catch the train instead!

  • No age restriction
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old.

This ride is sooooo adorable and dreamy – it makes you want to go have some honey afterward! Hahaha! The ride takes you through a simulation of Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood. I absolutely recommend this one if you’re bringing kids – it’s not scary at all, though there might be some slightly loud moments. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

  • No age restriction
  • Features dark sections and some loud special effects
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old.

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์ : โซน Fantasyland

How could you not ride this iconic Fantasyland attraction!!! This is definitely another one of my favorite family rides – you board a boat that takes you past adorable dolls from many different nationalities! What makes this ‘small world’ special and different from other parks is how the music and singing change to match each culture and country you float through. For example, when you pass Thailand or Southeast Asia, you’ll hear traditional Thai music and singing styles! It’s sooo cute! This is honestly one of my absolute favorite rides!

Pro tip: It’s also perfect for when you’re tired from walking all day – come in, rest your legs, and enjoy the cool air conditioning!

  • No age restriction
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old.

Fairy Tale Forest - presented

A lot of people tend to walk past this fairy tale garden thinking there’s nothing special about it, but actually… I think this spot is absolutely adorable! Inside, it’s like a mini maze where you’ll discover different fairy tales, and each spot has fun little interactive gimmicks to play with! Kids absolutely love this place, and Disney fans like us grown-ups enjoy it too!

The magic is in the details – don’t just walk past it! It’s like stepping into a storybook garden where every corner holds a delightful surprise!

This is your typical carousel ride! Hahaha! But the horses here gallop pretty fast – they spin faster . It’s especially beautiful at night for photos – absolutely Instagram-worthy!

This ride looks super cute, but I have to apologize to anyone who loves it – personally, I’m rather neutral about it, leaning towards not being a fan. The cups keep spinning around, and when you ride for a while, it makes me pretty dizzy!

  • No age restriction
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old.

Highlights Fantasyland

Disney’s Storybook Theater is absolutely a MUST-SEE when you visit Hong Kong Disneyland!!! Located in Fantasyland, it’s Mickey Mouse’s adventure through a storybook that has everything you could want! The production value is amazing!!! The stage is spectacular, the music is beautiful, and the performers are incredible!!! This show is perfect for everyone of all ages – I definitely recommend it!

It’s truly a magical experience that captures everything wonderful about Disney storytelling!

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์ : โซน Fantasyland

If you’re a princess fan and want to meet lots of Disney princesses, head to the area under the castle! There’s a special spot called The Royal Reception Hall where you can meet different Disney princesses. The princesses take turns meeting their fans throughout the day. I recommend getting in line in this area if you want to meet them!

Just keep in mind – even though the princesses take turns, you won’t know in advance which princess will come out next. You’ll have to wait and see who appears – it’s all part of the magical surprise!

รูปปั้น Dream Makers

The Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse statue was officially unveiled on October 15, 2023. This statue was inspired by a real-life moment in Walt Disney’s life when he took his daughter to ride a carousel in a park. It was during this time that he came up with the idea to create an amusement park where families could spend happy moments together – and that became the spark for Disneyland in his imagination!

The statue has been placed near the Cinderella Carousel at Hong Kong Disneyland, showing Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse in conversation, as if they’re sharing their imaginative ideas together.

Make sure to stop by and take photos when you visit Hong Kong Disneyland!

Mystic Point.

Mystic Point/ Hong Kong Disneyland

This zone is designed to make you feel like you’re stepping into the dense rainforests of Papua New Guinea, with a mysterious atmosphere all around. At the heart of the zone, you’ll find the home of Lord Henry Mystic, an explorer and adventurer who lives with his playful little monkey friend ‘Albert’. Around the house, you’ll discover sculptures of anthropomorphic mythical creatures like the Phoenix, Qilin, fish, and ancient carvings.

*** This zone is also a popular gathering spot for Disney pin traders! ***

Attractions : Mystic Point.

รีวิวเครื่องเล่นฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์ :Mystic Point/ Hong Kong Disneyland

While this is the ‘haunted house’ of Hong Kong Disneyland’s Mystic Point, it’s not exactly a haunted house! Since Hong Kong takes ghost and spirit beliefs quite seriously, they couldn’t build a traditional haunted house like other parks. Instead, they designed this unique ride as a museum-mansion filled with collections from around the world. One day, the mischievous monkey Albert meddles with some magic, bringing all the artifacts to life!

This is actually a one-of-a-kind attraction that you’ll only find at Hong Kong Disneyland – you won’t see it at any other park! The design is quite charming and not scary at all, as you ride through different rooms of the house in a vehicle. Though do note that there are some dark sections with loud sounds!

  • No age restrictions
  • Features dark sections

I find it fascinating how they adapted the classic haunted house concept to respect local cultural sensitivities while creating something completely unique and magical!

Grizzly Gulch.

บิ๊ก กริซลีย์ เมาท์เทน รันอะเวย์ ไมน์ คาร์ส

This zone transports you back to Northern California’s Gold Rush era of 1888! The area is designed to make you feel like you’re visiting an old mining site called ‘Geyser Gulch’ on the geyser fields, operated by the Big Grizzly Mountain Mining Company.

But humans aren’t the only residents here! The area is also home to a family of bears – Rocky, Mother Lode, and Nugget. While the miners don’t harm the bears and the bears don’t harm the miners, these furry friends do occasionally cause some headaches for everyone!

The whole area recreates that authentic Old West mining town feeling, complete with its unique bear residents!

This is the only ride in this zone, and it’s a mining train adventure that I HIGHLY recommend! It’s genuinely thrilling – you get fast speeds, powerful launches, drops, AND backwards motion! It’s sooo much fun!!! This ride has everything – it’s exciting and will definitely make you scream your heart out!

  • Minimum height requirement: 112 centimeters
  • Features drops and backward motion
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old
  • Not recommended for guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, back or neck problems, or motion sickness
  • Not recommended for pregnant guests or those who think they might be pregnant”

Adventureland

The whole area really captures that wild jungle adventure feeling! This zone is designed to make you feel like you’re on an adventure in the deep jungle! The rides and food have a wilderness theme with BBQ-style dining. The main attractions in this zone are Tarzan’s Treehouse and the Jungle River Cruise. When I visited, Tarzan’s Treehouse was closed for renovation, so I couldn’t experience it. I’ll update with more information when it reopens and I have a chance to visit again!

This is a boat adventure through mysterious lands, and I really love it because it’s not just a simple scenic boat ride! There are various special effects along the way – you’ll see giraffes, water-spraying elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and you’ll have to escape from native tribespeople, navigate through rushing rapids, and more! I’ve tried this ride in Japan, but Hong Kong’s version is even more impressive!

The fun gets even better with the boat skipper’s commentary – they really put on a show! Even when I ended up on a Cantonese-speaking boat and couldn’t understand a word, it was still super entertaining and enjoyable! Hahaha!  I definitely recommend giving this one a try!

  • No age restriction
  • Children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 years old

The real joy and happiness of visiting Disneyland comes from meeting the various characters who greet us in different zones. What makes these character meetings special isn’t just about taking photos – you can actually talk with them! And every cast member stays perfectly in character, never breaking role!!! No matter how many tricky questions you ask, they remain true to their character, and I think this is what makes Disneyland truly magical.

Let me share one of my most memorable moments: Once I met Moana in Adventureland while I was wearing a blue shirt, yellow pants, and a red bow. As soon as Moana saw me, she immediately said, “Oh! You’re dressed just like my friend Snow White! She wears these same colors and a bow just like that. You must go meet her – she’s going to love your outfit!” Awww, how adorable was that!

This kind of magical interaction really shows how special Disney characters can make your visit! “

Would you like me to adjust anything about the translation? I’ve tried to capture both the general magic of character interactions and your special moment with Moana!

When I meet the cast members, I never see them as people like us – I always see them as their actual characters! For example, I don’t see Mickey Mouse as someone wearing a costume with a mascot head, or Ariel as just a foreign woman with a red wig in an Ariel costume. Instead, I truly feel their essence as these beloved characters. That’s why every meeting with them is always a special moment for me. It makes me feel so close and connected to these characters – and if I already loved them before, meeting them just makes me love them even more!

It’s about believing in the magic and letting yourself fully experience these precious moments with your favorite Disney friends!

Momentous .

And of course, when anyone thinks of Disneyland anywhere in the world, they think of the fireworks! Hong Kong Disneyland certainly doesn’t disappoint with their spectacular ‘Momentous’ show. This incredible performance projects our most treasured Disney animation moments onto the castle, accompanied by fountains and magnificent fireworks!

This is a show I’m always proud to recommend to all my friends visiting Disneyland. I always tell them: ‘After you’re done with the rides, don’t rush to leave – please stay for the fireworks!’ Watching it with your own eyes is so much better than through a phone screen. For those who’ve never stayed for the fireworks before, I really, really recommend from my heart that you try to catch it. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed because it’s absolutely breathtaking!

The show starts around 8:00 PM and runs for about 15-20 minutes. Note that it will be canceled during rainy or stormy weather.

Is Hong Kong Disneyland worth visiting?

For me, Hong Kong Disneyland is such a complete Disney theme park resort, offering everything from spectacular shows to rides and memorable experiences. The international travel time is much shorter compared to other Disney parks in China, Japan, France, and America, which require longer journeys, more preparation, and more vacation days. With Hong Kong Disneyland, you can visit even if you only have 3 days 2 nights, 2 days 1 night, or even just a day trip! (I’m speaking from a Thai tourist’s perspective here, as Hong Kong is so close to Thailand compared to Paris and America.)

For families with young children or groups with people of all ages, Hong Kong Disneyland is perfect because the park size is just right – not too big, not too small. This makes it easy to explore, helps parents manage their little ones (with fewer tantrums!), doesn’t tire out older visitors too much, and the rides are mostly family-friendly without too many thrilling attractions. This means the whole family can enjoy quality time together!

And if you’ve never been to any Disneyland before and are wondering where to start? I highly recommend Hong Kong Disneyland as your first Disney experience! It has everything – shows, rides, and reasonable queue times that won’t have you waiting forever. I guarantee you’ll have an amazing, happy, absolutely fantastic time, and it’s also great practice for visiting other Disney parks in the future!

FAQ

10:00 AM – 8:30 PM, though they might open earlier depending on the park’s schedule.

Hong Kong Disneyland is usually closed on Wednesdays, but sometimes they’re open all week. I recommend checking the park’s calendar when buying your tickets – if you can purchase tickets for a particular date, it means the park is open that day!

Hong Kong Disneyland has 4 different ticket types, divided into Tiers 1-4. The prices vary depending on how busy the park is expected to be on your chosen date.

The park is typically busiest on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as during annual holidays, festival days, and Hong Kong public holidays (which are different from Thai holidays). I recommend checking Hong Kong’s holiday calendar before planning your visit!

Great, let me provide some recommendations for where to stay when visiting Hong Kong Disneyland.

If you’re looking for a convenient and hassle-free experience, I would suggest staying at one of the Disney hotels in Hong Kong. There are 3 options to choose from:

  1. Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel – This is the flagship Disney hotel, with a classic, elegant Disney theme throughout. It’s located right next to the park, so you can easily access the magic.
  2. Disney’s Hollywood Hotel – This hotel has a Hollywood/art deco style, perfect for guests who love the golden age of cinema. It’s also very close to the park entrance.
  3. Disney Explorers Lodge – This resort has a tropical, adventurous vibe, transporting you to faraway lands. It’s still within easy reach of the park.

Staying at one of these Disney hotels provides lots of benefits. You’ll get extra magic hours to access the park before regular guests, complimentary transportation to and from the park, and all the Disney theming and amenities you’d expect. It makes the whole experience very seamless and enjoyable.

Of course, there are also many other hotels in the area if you prefer something outside the Disney bubble. But for maximum convenience and that extra touch of Disney magic, I’d highly recommend considering one of their own resort hotels.

Hong Kong Disneyland has lots of rides that children can enjoy! There aren’t many intense thrill rides, so parents can feel completely at ease

Yes, they do! The fireworks displays are about 20 minutes long each day. The fireworks show will only be cancelled if the weather conditions are really bad, like thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, etc. On those days, the show for that day will be cancelled.

But sometimes, if it’s just raining lightly, they won’t cancel the show. They may just remove some of the effects, like if the original show had 10 fireworks, they might reduce it to 8 or something like that, depending on the situation. It just depends on the circumstances.

The parade at Hong Kong Disneyland usually takes place every day, except on days when the weather is really bad, like heavy rain. The parades also change for different festivals and seasons – the performances vary depending on the occasion.

Yes, they do. For guests staying at the Disney hotels, you can use the service to have your luggage transported to your Disney Hong Kong Resort hotel. They charge HK$140 per piece for this service.

Alternatively, you can also drop off your luggage at the hotel first before entering the park. This is free of charge.

For regular guests who are not staying at the hotels near the park, there are also luggage storage services available. The fees for this are based on the size of the luggage and the duration you need to store it.

Yes, you can bring your own food and snacks into the park. The only exceptions are for strongly-scented foods and fruits, as well as pre-packaged foods that require hot water to prepare, such as cup noodles, instant porridge, and instant coffee.

Other than those few prohibited items, guests are free to bring their own food, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages into Hong Kong Disneyland. This can be a convenient and cost-saving option during your visit.

To summarize the rules around selfie sticks and camera equipment at Hong Kong Disneyland:

  • Long selfie sticks or tripods are not allowed. The staff will warn you if you try to use them.
  • However, short handheld selfie sticks that are not very long can be brought into the park.
  • Drones are also not permitted.

So in general, they have restrictions on larger camera equipment and accessories, but allow smaller handheld selfie sticks. Good to know the specifics before visiting. Let me know if you need any other Disneyland information!
