Wayfinders' Table The Moana Restaurant at Hong Kong Disneyland

Choose Language :

Hey everyone! 🌊💙 If you’re a Moana fan, this is a must-visit spot at Hong Kong Disneyland. Over in the Adventureland zone, there’s a brand-new restaurant called Wayfinders’ Table — fully inspired by Moana’s adventurous, ocean-loving spirit. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the rides, soak up some island vibes, and find a little inspiration in true Moana style. Let’s dive in and see just how warm and welcoming this place really is — and of course, which dishes are the absolute must-tries!

Wayfinders’ Table — A New Destination for Every Voyager

Tucked inside the Adventureland zone of Hong Kong Disneyland, this restaurant instantly draws you in with the light aroma of freshly cooked food floating through the air. Inside, it’s beautifully decorated with island-inspired fabrics and gentle ocean wave patterns that capture the spirit of the Pacific. The high, open ceiling lets the breeze flow right through, making the space feel airy and calm. The restaurant itself is surprisingly spacious — plenty of tables for everyone, whether you’re coming with friends, as a couple, or flying solo on your own little adventure. 🌺

Most of the tables are made of light-colored wood with subtle island-style carvings, giving the space a warm, welcoming feel while still keeping that signature Disney charm. Every corner of the restaurant is filled with details that tie back to Moana — from artwork and miniature canoes to symbols of wayfinding and ocean exploration. And for anyone who loves taking photos, this place is a dream. There are so many perfect little spots that capture the vibe of the islands and the magic of Disney all at once. 📸✨

When it comes to the theme, Wayfinders’ Table isn’t just a restaurant that borrowed Moana’s name — it’s built around an actual story that deepens the experience for Disney fans. The concept is inspired by Motunui, Moana’s home island, imagined as a welcoming gathering place for voyagers from across Oceania. It’s where travelers stop to rest, share meals, and exchange stories from their journeys — turning every visit into a moment of connection and discovery. 🌊

The Menu

Every dish at Wayfinders’ Table is presented as a local favorite from Moana’s island community, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients — from meats and vegetables to herbs and coconut milk straight from Kele’s farm. The recipes are said to come from none other than Gramma Tala, Moana’s beloved grandmother. Knowing that little backstory already makes the whole dining experience feel so much more special — it’s not just food, it’s a taste of Motunui’s spirit. 🌺

Now, let’s talk about the food! 🍽️
It’s time to take a closer look at what’s actually on the menu at Wayfinders’ Table — for anyone who hasn’t been yet, this will give you a quick overview before you decide what to try.

(By the way, the photos in this section are the official promotional images released by Disney. Later on, when we get to my personal review, I’ll show you the real dishes I ordered — straight from my own camera!)

Main Dishes

Beef Steak Mee Goreng – HK$180
A hearty beef steak dish infused with the aroma of lemongrass and chili, served with stir-fried mee goreng noodles and a touch of hoisin sauce. Fresh lime adds brightness, while cabbage and bean sprouts give it texture. The dish is finished with a spoonful of Pacific-style sambal for that subtle island kick. 🌶️

Massaman Prawn Curry with Gramma’s Signature Rice – HK$170
A rich, fusion-style prawn massaman curry infused with warm Asian spices. The juicy prawns are simmered in creamy coconut milk with peanuts, potatoes, and carrots, while chunks of pineapple add a light sweet-and-tangy balance. Served with Gramma’s signature basmati rice — a fragrant blend of almonds and raisins that perfectly complements the curry’s richness. 🍛

Wayfinder’s Roasted Chicken Leg with Gramma’s Signature Rice – HK$160
Tender roasted chicken leg seasoned with fish sauce, ginger, and lime for a savory, lightly tangy flavor. Served with fragrant basmati rice mixed with almonds and raisins, adding a touch of sweetness and crunch. The dish even comes with a small marshmallow cookie — a cute little detail that ties perfectly into the Moana theme. 🍗

Malai Kofta and Lentil Masala – HK$160
This one’s a vegetarian dish — an Indian classic called Kofta. If you’re not familiar, kofta are small dumplings made from mashed potatoes, vegetables, and Indian paneer cheese, shaped into balls and fried until crisp on the outside and soft inside. They’re then simmered in a rich, creamy tomato sauce (malai). The dish is served with a comforting lentil masala and Gramma’s signature basmati rice, mixed with cashews, almonds, raisins, carrots, and assorted vegetables for a nutty, slightly sweet finish in every bite. 🌿

Seafood Laksa Soup Noodle – HK$170
A comforting bowl of rich, coconut-based laksa filled with prawns, squid, and scallops. The broth is creamy, fragrant with aromatic spices, and perfectly balanced between savory and mild. On top, a crispy noodle adds and Mickey-shape egg playful Disney touch — a fun little detail that makes this hearty seafood dish even more memorable. 🦐

Each set includes a bottled mineral water : You can upgrade to a soft drink or iced tea for an additional HK$10, or a bottled fruit juice for HK$20.

Kids’ Menu

Voyagers’ Chicken Naan Pizza – HK$125
This kids’ meal is almost too cute to eat! It’s served in a Kakamora-shaped bowl — yes, the little coconut pirates from Moana! Inside, you’ll find a warm chicken naan pizza topped with mozzarella cheese and creamy mashed potatoes. It comes with a sweet mango jam sauce, a side of fresh salad, a marshmallow cookie, and dried mango slices. A fun, colorful combo that perfectly fits the island-adventure theme. 🍕

Each set includes a bottled mineral water : You can upgrade to a soft drink or iced tea for an additional HK$10, or a bottled fruit juice for HK$20.

Desserts & Beverages

Explore the Ocean – Banana Coconut Fritters – HK$55
This dessert is beautifully served on a mini Moana-style canoe! It features golden-fried banana fritters that are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, topped with cinnamon sauce, toasted coconut flakes, and a hint of spice. It even comes with a side of creamy mayonnaise for extra richness — a surprisingly good combo. A bright, tropical way to end your meal in true ocean-inspired style. 🌊🍌

Island Delight – Pineapple and Coconut Flavoured Slush – HK$58
A tropical slush blending pineapple and coconut, perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. It’s icy, refreshing, and exactly what you need to cool down under Hong Kong’s warm sunshine. 🍍🥥

Island Breeze – HK$38
A fizzy soda blend of lime, pineapple, and preserved plum, with just the right balance of sweet, sour, and a hint of saltiness. Light, refreshing, and the perfect drink to revive you after exploring the park all day. 🍋✨

Let’s dig in! 🍴✨

After spending some time exploring Wayfinders’ Table — checking out the decor, seating areas, and those incredibly appetizing promotional photos — I have to admit, Disney really knows how to make their food look irresistible. The steak and roasted chicken dishes in particular looked so good on the posters that I was this close to ordering everything on the menu.

In the end, I decided to go with three out of the five main dishes for the most honest, real-world review possible. No sponsorships here — every dish was paid for, tried, and photographed by me. I’ll describe each one exactly as I experienced it, the good and the not-so-good, straight up.

Of course, taste is always subjective! So think of this review as a friendly guide to help you decide what to try when you visit — not a definitive verdict on what’s good or bad.

Beef Steak Mee Goreng – HK$180
When I saw the promo photo for this dish, it looked amazing — like, dangerously crave-worthy levels of amazing. But when the real thing arrived… let’s just say it didn’t quite match the picture 😅 (which, to be fair, I totally get — promo shots are meant to look perfect).

Flavor-wise, it was pretty average. The steak had a nice savory aroma but was a bit overcooked, making it dry and slightly tough to chew. The mee goreng noodles were mild and didn’t add much excitement to the dish. Overall, it was fine, but nothing that stood out. I’d give it a 4/10.

Wayfinders’ Roasted Chicken Leg with Gramma’s Signature Rice – HK$160
This dish was a pleasant surprise! The chicken had a nice savory aroma with a flavor that reminded me of grilled chicken — slightly salty, fragrant, and tender without being dry or chewy. It paired really well with the so-called Gramma’s Signature Rice, which is basmati rice lightly stir-fried with a bit of oil and seasoning.

The rice itself had a subtle buttery-salty taste, and when eaten together with the raisins, it balanced out beautifully. Overall, it was enjoyable and definitely easier to love than the steak. I’d give this one a 6.5/10.

🍜 Seafood Laksa Soup Noodle – HK$170
This dish looked really appetizing when it arrived — a big bowl filled with prawns, squid, and scallops, all swimming in a creamy laksa broth. The aroma of coconut milk was lovely, but the flavor leaned on the mild side. It wasn’t bad at all, just… not memorable. The soup lacked that punch or depth you’d expect from a laksa, so it ended up feeling a bit flat. That said, the Mickey-shaped egg floating on top was absolutely adorable (definitely the highlight 😂). Overall, it’s an easy, okay dish but nothing to get excited about. I’d give it a 5.5/10.

🍌 Explore the Ocean – Banana Coconut Fritters – HK$55
Now this was the star of the meal! The banana fritters were perfectly golden — crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with a light crunch from the toasted coconut. The aroma was incredible, sweet and tropical in the best way possible. It was served on a beautifully detailed mini Moana canoe (sadly, you can’t take it home 😅), which made the presentation even more delightful. This dessert single-handedly redeemed the entire meal — easily the best thing I tried here. 100% worth ordering! I’d give it a solid 8/10.

Overall Experience at Wayfinders’ Table , Hong Kong Disneyland

After dining at Wayfinders’ Table, I’d say my experience was a mix of both hits and misses — some things I really loved, and others that didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Starting with the ambience, I genuinely loved it. The restaurant is adorable and perfectly captures the Moana theme — from the wood carvings and patterned fabrics to the warm Pacific island color palette that makes you feel like you’ve stepped right into Motunui. The space is bigger than I expected, with plenty of tables that are nicely spaced out, so even when it’s crowded, it doesn’t feel cramped. It’s bright, breezy, and just feels good to sit in. The setup is self-service: you order at the counter, grab your tray, and find your seat — quick and efficient, which suits the flow of a busy theme park day. The menu also caters to everyone — kids, adults, and vegetarians alike — so it’s a good spot for families and mixed groups. 🌺

As for the food, I’d say the overall flavor sits right in the middle — not bad, but not particularly exciting either. The Beef Steak Mee Goreng was a bit of a letdown; the steak came out dry and slightly overcooked, making it tougher than I’d hoped. I understand, though — theme park kitchens need to serve fast and keep things consistent, so cooking to custom doneness levels isn’t always possible. Still, a little more tenderness would have made a world of difference.

The Wayfinder’s Roasted Chicken Leg turned out much better — flavorful, tender, and nicely balanced with the buttery, lightly seasoned basmati rice mixed with almonds and raisins. It’s easily the most enjoyable savory dish of the bunch. The Seafood Laksa was okay — mildly flavored, creamy but not too rich, and easy to eat, though it lacked a standout element that would make it memorable.

Overall, the food is about what you’d expect from a Disney park restaurant — satisfying enough for a meal between attractions, but nothing that really wowed me. The one exception? The Banana Coconut Fritters. Crispy, fragrant, and delicious, they completely stole the show and are the only thing I’d go back for again. 🍌

If you’re planning to visit Wayfinders’ Table, I hope this review helps you decide what to try! 🍴✨ Everything here is based on my own experience — paid for, tried, and written honestly. Of course, taste is personal, so your favorites might be totally different. After all, dining at Disneyland is a bit like Moana’s journey — everyone’s adventure has its own flavor. 🌊💛
