Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Review: Princess-Themed Luxury Stay
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel stands out with its elegant Victorian design that captures the royal charm of a Disney princess world. It’s the most luxurious and “princess-like” hotel among the three Disney hotels in Hong Kong — perfect for families with little kids who adore Disney Princesses, or anyone who loves a grand, opulent atmosphere. The hotel offers full facilities both indoors and outdoors, from themed luxury rooms and storybook lounges to outdoor and indoor swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, and souvenir shops — everything you need for a truly magical stay.
There are three official Disney hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland:
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
Disney Explorers Lodge
Highlights of Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
Among all Disney hotels in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is the most luxurious, the most beautiful, and the closest to the park! Guests staying here can enjoy a special private walkway that directly connects the hotel to the park entrance — making it the most convenient option for families with young kids or elderly travelers who need to rest between park visits. You can easily walk back to your room for a short break and return to the park again whenever you like.
Personally, I’d say this is the most beautiful hotel out of all three Disney hotels in Hong Kong. Every corner is filled with exquisite details — from its grand white Victorian-style building that faces the sea, to the royal atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re staying in an oceanfront palace.
While Disney Explorers Lodge also offers sea views, the vibes are completely different. Explorers Lodge feels like a tropical adventure resort by the ocean, whereas Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel gives off the feeling of a seaside royal castle. In the evening, you can take a peaceful walk along the shore or rent one of the hotel’s scooters for a little fun spin — both are magical in their own way.
The hotel is packed with family-friendly facilities — from playgrounds and tennis courts (with free equipment rental) to both outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a fitness room, a themed maze garden, restaurants, and picnic areas. You’ll never run out of things to do here. Staying at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel means you get a full vacation experience in one place — fun, relaxing, and magical for every member of the family.
This area features a smaller pool where kids can safely splash and play — it almost feels like having your own private pool! It’s the perfect spot for families to relax and let the little ones enjoy their Disney getaway to the fullest.
The indoor swimming pool is absolutely stunning — it feels like a royal pool straight out of a princess fairytale. The elegant design, warm lighting, and peaceful atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful spots in the entire Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel.
Inside the Lobby of Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
The moment you step into the hotel, you’re greeted by a breathtaking lobby with a grand chandelier hanging above and elegant sofas arranged at the center. During the Christmas season, a massive, beautifully decorated Christmas tree stands right in the middle — it’s absolutely magical.
And here’s something that truly surprised me: I first thought the piano music playing in the background was a recording, but when I looked up to the second floor, I saw a hotel staff member actually performing live! It was such a delightful surprise — the melodies were beautiful, the performance was flawless, and it made the whole experience even more special.

It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime royal experience for both kids and adults alike.
Room rates may vary depending on the travel season.
Inside the Rooms at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
During my stay, I usually book a Standard Room and take advantage of Disney’s free room upgrade promotions, which often bump me up to a Deluxe Room. Like other Disney hotels, the rooms here come with either two double beds or one king bed — comfortably accommodating up to four guests. The space is generous, the layout is practical, and overall it feels cozy yet elegant — perfect for families or friends traveling together.
Important Note: Plastic-Free Policy in Hong Kong Disneyland Hotels
In the past, Disney hotels usually provided disposable bathroom amenities for guests. However, starting April 22, 2024, Hong Kong introduced stricter regulations on single-use plastic products. As a result, all hotels within Hong Kong Disneyland Resort are no longer allowed to offer disposable plastic items — including bathroom amenities and bottled drinking water in guest rooms.
So if you’re planning to stay at any of the Disney hotels in Hong Kong, make sure to bring your own toiletries and reusable water bottles. It’s part of Hong Kong’s new sustainability effort — and your small preparation will make your trip smoother (and greener)!
Starlight Picnic – A Disney Evening Under the Stars
The “Starlight Picnic” is a signature experience available exclusively at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. It’s a magical outdoor picnic where guests can enjoy Disney animation screenings under the night sky — like an open-air movie night, Disney style! It’s such a fun and relaxing experience — you can sip drinks, munch on snacks, and watch your favorite Disney films beneath the stars.
Guests who purchase this add-on package also get access to a special reserved viewing area for the “Momentous” fireworks show — no crowds, no obstructions, just the perfect view of the spectacular nighttime show.
The picnic menu includes smoked salmon, ham and cold cuts, hot soups (such as pumpkin, corn, or mushroom cream, depending on the day), savory and sweet waffle sandwiches, popcorn, assorted snacks, and desserts. Drinks include soft beverages, sparkling wine, and unlimited champagne.
💰 Price: HKD 1,199 for two people
How to Book Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
You can book your stay directly through the official Hong Kong Disneyland website, which is actually super convenient — especially for Thai visitors! It’s the only official Disney hotel website that offers a fully functional Thai language menu (and yes, it’s properly translated, not auto-generated! 😂). Since many Thai travelers visit Hong Kong Disneyland, they’ve made sure the site is easy to navigate for us.
Booking directly through the official website also comes with special perks — you can access exclusive seasonal packages, priority dining reservations, and even early booking privileges for certain events that are available only to guests who book directly through Disney.
For international guests, the English version of the site works just as smoothly, and all hotel staff speak fluent English — so communication is easy throughout your stay.
Of course, booking through third-party travel agencies can sometimes be cheaper — in some seasons, even half the price of the official site! But the trade-off is that you might miss out on some exclusive activities or early reservations. So it really depends on what you value more: the best deal or the full Disney experience.
✨ Special Offer: When booking through Klook, use the promo code DISNEYEVERYTHINGKLK to receive an exclusive discount on your stay at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel!
Note: Prices shown are examples only — actual rates may vary depending on the season and current offers.
So, Is Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Worth It?
In terms of beauty and comfort, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel truly lives up to its reputation — it’s grand, elegant, and filled with every convenience you could want. The facilities are top-notch, and its unbeatable location right next to Hong Kong Disneyland Park makes it especially perfect for families. Whether you’re traveling with little kids or elderly family members, the easy walking distance between the hotel and the park means you can return to your room anytime for a quick rest before heading back for more Disney fun.
The only real downside compared to the other two Disney hotels — Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel — is the higher price point. Room rates typically range from HKD 10,000 to 120,000 per night, depending on the room type and season.
If you’re planning to stay here, I recommend checking seasonal promotions through booking platforms or agencies, or consider traveling around mid-year when prices tend to be lower. Rates usually increase toward the end of the year during peak holiday seasons.
